Greater Jammu started as an eight page black and white English daily on 14th May, 2009. Having just completed the journey of infancy the paper expanded its volume to twelve pages w.e.f. 1st Jan 2010. Further respecting the readers demand coupled with the competition in the print media, Greater Jammu transformed into coloured edition on the auspicious occasion of Diwali-2010.

Greater Jammu's fearless and unbiased editorial stance to project the humanitarian cause in general and the national cause in particular with special emphasis upon the issues confronting different regions of the State of Jammu and Kashmir where the feeling of discrimination has been brewing up since independence. In this context Greater Jammu stands for equity and justice to the people of the state irrespective of caste, creed, colour region or religion, be it Jammu, Ladakh or Kashmir. It is due to the balanced approach of the paper in presenting the reliable and authentic news right from the day one that Greater Jammu won the hearts and minds of the populace of the region at the very infant stage. On the persistent demand of the readers Greater Jammu started its online edition on 9th Feb 2010 Besides, Greater Jammu uses the latest state of art technology for its daily journey commencing with the coverage or gathering of news right upto the readers' desk.

With its origination in Jammu, the paper covers the readership not only in the state of J&K but in the adjoining states of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab too, besides selected readership in the National capital New Delhi. Though Greater Jammu has accredited readership in the aforesaid areas, yet endeavours are continuing to make this daily hit the stands in all the Indian Metros.
