Record number of new voters enrolled in J&K

Jammu, Jan 14: Jammu and Kashmir has recorded highest electoral enrolment during special summary revision of electoral rolls - 2017. "About 1,95,717 new voters have been enrolled during the special summary revision which includes 87040 males and 108677 females," Chief Electoral Officer J&K Shantmanu here today said while chairing a meeting. Shantmanu informed that the enrolment of female electors is on higher side as compared to male electors................

Investigate case of 'Burhan termed martyr by NC MLC': Court    
Jammu, Jan 14: In an application seeking registration of FIR against Showkat Ganai Member Legislative Council (MLC) Jammu & Kashmir on the basis of newspaper item according to which the MLC stated that the Kashmiri Youth have picked up guns and the will continue to do so in future and that the HM Commander Burhan Wani was a Martyr, the Court has directed the police to investigate the matter. DGP for better synergy to achieve better results

Srinagar, Jan 14: The night temperature in Kashmir and Ladakh regions continued its downward spiral as the mercury dipped at many places, with Srinagar experiencing the coldest night of the season so far.
