Assembly passes resolution for return of Kashmiri Pandits

Jammu, Jan 19: Jammu and Kashmir Assembly today unanimously passed a resolution for creating a conducive atmosphere for the return of Kashmiri Pandits and other migrants to the Valley. Soon after the House met in the morning, former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said the Assembly should pass a resolution for the return of Kashmiri Pandits and other migrants, rising above party politics. Jmu-Sgr NH opens for one-way traffic     
Srinagar, Jan 19: The nearly 300-km long Srinagar- Jammu national highway, connecting Kashmir Valley with the rest of the country, was thrown open for one-way traffic, three days after heavy snowfall led to its closure on Monday. "Traffic has been allowed to ply on the national highway after the road was cleared off snow yesterday," an official of the Traffic Department here said. He said only one-way traffic was allowed to ply on the highway today. "While the stranded vehicles were cleared yesterday, this morning, one-way traffic from Jammu was allowed to ply,"....................

Mehbooba discusses J&K security with Rajnath

BSF transfers commanding officer, deputy to NE
New Delhi, Jan 19: The BSF has transferred the Commanding Officer and the deputy of a battalion whose jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav recently alleged that poor quality food was being given to troops posted along the border. Officials said the Commandant (CO) of the 29th battalion P Kumar and his Second-in-Command have been shifted to Tripura after directives were issued in this regard by the Border Security Force headquarters here.  They said the officers have been transferred "pending investigation"................
