4 terrorists killed, Major among 4 soldiers martyred   
Srinagar, Feb 14: Four terrorists were killed while 4 soldiers including a Major attained martyrdom and 9 other security personnel and a civilian were injured in two separate encounters in Kashmir, officials said. An encounter took place in Parray Mohalla of Hajin area of Bandipora district this morning after security forces cordoned it off following information about presence of militants there, a police official said.........................

IED diffused, arms, ammunition recovered

Jammu, Feb 14: Traffic was disrupted on the Jammu-Poonch National Highway after a suspected Improvised Explosive Device was found abandoned while a cache of arms and ammunition was recovered in Poonch district. "A suspected IED was found abandoned in a polythene along the roadside this morning in Totagali area of Bhimber Gali in Poonch," police spokesperson here said. Coldest February night in Leh since 2013 

Srinagar: Leh recorded its coldest February night since 2013 as the mercury there settled at a low of minus 16.3 degrees Celsius, even as there was slight improvement in the minimum temperature across the Valley. The town in Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir was the coldest recorded place in the state, an official of the Meteorological Depart-ment said.
