J&K Info Dept releases Rs 9.58 cr for payment of advertisement bills

Jammu, Mar 6: In tune with the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti's commitment to the representatives of various Editors' Forums, the Directorate of Information today released R 9.58 crore to the Joint Director Information Kashmir and Jammu for payment of advertisement bills of the newspapers and periodicals including clearance of previous liabilities. Motorcyclist killed, pillion riders injured in accident

Jammu, Mar 5: A biker died on the spot while pillion riders got injured when their motorcycle skidded off in this winter capital of the state. "A motorcycle skidded off and rolled down late last night on fly over near Bus Stand here," police said here today. They said that the motorcycle was over-speeding and hit the railing on the fly over. One of the riders identified as Dimple, resident of Janipur died on the spot, police said..................

 

2 tehsil officers among 4 held for corruption in Kathua

3-fold increase in arson, rioting cases in J&K in 2016
Jammu, Mar 6: Jammu and Kashmir witnessed a three-fold increase in cases of rioting, arson and stone pelting last year as compared to 2015, triggered by five month-long unrest after the killing of Hizbul terrorist Burhan Wani. As per data provided by the Crime Branch of state police, a total of 3,404 cases of rioting, 267 cases of arson and 2,690 incidents of stone pelting were reported in the valley last year. India opens to bilaterally settling issues with Pak
New Delhi, Mar 6: India and Pakistan will hold talks on various issues relating to the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) in Lahore on March 20-21 with the Indian side maintaining that it is always open to a resolution bilaterally.
