NC, Cong likely to contest LS Polls jointly

Jammu, Mar 14: After fighting against PDP-BJP Government in the recently ended Assembly elections, National Conference and Congress may contest Srinagar, Anantnag Lok Sabha Polls jointly scheduled to be held in April. According to sources both NC and Congress, who were in coalition from 2002 to 2008, have formed pre-poll alliance for the Lok Sabha elections. "Both NC and Congress had threadbare discussions and finally agreed to shake hands to counter the BJP-PDP in Lok Sabha elections," sources here said..............

Jammu, Mar 14: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today said that upcoming tunnel on Mughal Road will give boost to tourism sector in Rajouri.  "The upcoming tunnel on Mughal road, once completed, would not only give the region improved access to rest of the State, it would also give a big boost to the tourism in the area as well," Mufti said while addressing a public meeting after laying the foundation stone of Kotranka-Khwas road in Rajouri district................

J&K Govt removes Principal of Jammu Medical College 

Jammu, Mar 14: Jammu and Kashmir Government today removed the Principal of Government Medical College and Hospital here.  "Health and Medical Education Ministry today removed Dr Zahid Geelani as Principal of Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu," an official here said. He said he has been appointed as Head of the Anatomy department while Dr Sunanda Raina is likely to be the new Principal. Dr Zahid had taken over as Principal on December 3, 2015 from Dr Ghanshyam Dev Gupta..........
