Jammu, Mar 18: A day after Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti pitched for AFSPA revocation from some parts of the state, BJP national general secretary and in-charge J&K affairs, Ram Madhav today said that the law is not in place out of fun and will go only if situation improves."AFSPA is not out of fun imposed in some areas. Such laws in place in some states because there is some necessity for such laws," Madhav here told reporters. He was in town to review meeting of BJP leaders ahead of By Polls on two Lok Sabha seats Srinagar and Anantnag to be held in April...................

Pro-Islamic State posters surface in Bihar’s Rohtas, investigation underway
Patna, Mar 18: Posters inviting youths to join Islamic State (ISIS) surfaced in Bihar’s Rohtas district on Saturday, prompting the state police to launch an inquiry to “get to the bottom” of the matter.
The posters, pasted on electric poles, were first noticed at Sikrauli Bigha village in the state’s Nauhatta block, some 230 km south-west of Patna. “ISIS come to Bihar and please new boys to join (sic),” was written in them.................


Six naxals killed, AK rifle recovered in Dantewada encounter
New Delhi, Mar 18: An encounter broke out between security forces and naxals on Saturday in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district. According to news agency ANI, the encounter is presently underway and six naxals has been killed while body of one naxalite and one AK-47 rifle along with other arms and ammunition has been recovered from Burdum area.

Two missing Indian clerics traced, to return on Monday  
Karachi, Mar 18: The two Indian clerics of Delhi's Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah, who allegedly went missing from Karachi airport a few days ago, have been traced and are safe, according to an ANI report.  "The Sufi clerics have reached Karachi and are likely to be returned to India on March 20," as reported quoting Pakistani media...............

Man shot dead in Paris airport security scarel 
Paris, Mar 18: Troops at Paris' Orly airport today shot dead a man who tried to grab a soldier's weapon, triggering a major security scare that shut down the airport and left thousands of travellers stranded. Nobody was hurt in the incident which comes as France remains on high alert following a series of jihadist attacks that have claimed over 230 lives since January 2015. Prosecutors said they had launched an anti-terrorism investigation.

US, China agree to jointly address threats posed by N Korea
Beijing, Mar 18: China and the US today agreed to jointly address the threats posed by North Korea's provocative nuclear and missile programmes as Secretary of State Rex Tillerson warned that tensions in the region have spiked to "dangerous levels". "We noted the efforts made in the last 20 years has not succeeded in curbing the threats posed by North Korea's illegal nuclear weapons programmes," Tillerson, who is on his first official visit to China, said after talks with his Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi here..............
