 Youth rushing to encounter sites committing suicide: DGP

Srinagar, Mar 30 : Youths who storm the encounter sites in the Valley to hurl stones at security personnel are committing suicide, Jammu and Kashmir Police today said and appealed to them to refrain from such activity. "In the encounter, even security forces and police take cover of a bulletproof vehicle or a house. Youths coming to the encounter sites are committing suicide," Director General of Police S P Vaid told reporters here.

Jammu, Mar 30: The sleuths of State Vigilance Organisation have booked former Principal of Government Degree College Udhampur for misusing his official position in renovating his quarter in the college and seven others in separate cases, official spokesman here said. "A case under FIR No. 11/2017 under section 5 (1) (d) r/w 5 (2) J&K P C Act 2006 has been registered against Dr Nutan Kumar Resutra, then Principal Government Degree College Udhampur on the basis of a verification conducted into the allegations that during his posting as Principal in the college in the year 2010-12 he spent more than R10 lakhs on renovation of his quarter in Udhampur College Camp-us," official spokesman here said. ......................

 SC to begin hearing on triple talaq from May 11
New Delhi, Mar 30: Muslim practices of triple talaq, nikah halala and polygamy are issues that are "very important" and involve "sentiments", the Supreme Court today said and decided a Constitution Bench would hear petitions challenging these from May 11.
Influential Muslim organisations like the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) have opposed courts adjudication of these matters, maintaining these practices stemmed from the Holy Quran and were not justiciable. Several Muslim women have challenged the practice of triple talaq in which the husband, quite often, pronounces talaq thrice in one go, sometimes even by phone or text message.

 New Delhi, Mar 30: The government on Thursday sought to allay the fears among Indian IT professionals, saying the US administration has not implemented any policy yet to curb jobs and efforts were underway to dissuade it from doing so.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said in the Rajya Sabha that the Indian government is talking to the Trump administration as well as the US Congressmen, giving proper data and reasoning to press home the point that the relationship between Indian IT companies with the US is mutually-beneficial.

Malaysia mistook slain Kim Jong Nam for South Korean
KUALA LUMPUR, Mar 30: Malaysian authorities wrongly identified the slain half-brother of North Korea's leader as a South Korean national and first alerted Seoul's embassy in Kuala Lumpur soon after his death, sources familiar with the incident told Reuters.
The police error did have a silver lining: It enabled Seoul to quickly inform Kuala Lumpur the dead man was probably Kim Jong Nam, half-brother to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Kim was murdered around mid-morning on Feb. 13, when Malaysian police say two women smeared super toxic VX nerve agent on his face at the budget terminal of Kuala Lumpur International Airport... ...............
